Conventional Element
|
How is it used in
Action/Adventure films?
|
Protagonist
|
Usually the protagonists are casted as young attractive males or
young attractive females which portray an innocent clean character.
Another thing is that they usually wear bright rich clothes to show
they have a lot of money.
|
Antagonist
|
Usually the antagonists are casted as old wicked looking actors to
inform the audience that they are the bad guys.
They usually wear old tatted clothes that represent how old and
ragged they are.
They usually portray an old wicked man which is a conventional
element in the action adventure genre.
|
Other characters
|
The other characters are either on the good side or the bad side as
you can tell by what ship they’re on or what they’re wearing.
The protagonists and the antagonists usually wear different colours
as the baddies usually wear dark, ugly ragged clothes whereas the good people
wear bright, nice colours or rich clothes.

antagonists which is a conventional element in an action/adventure genre.
|
Locations

is a conventional element in the stereotypical pirate movie.
|
Soundtrack
|
The background music is either past paced orchestra to make the
audience feel tense and inform that action is about to take place.
|
Camera
|
The camera angles are usually high angle or low angle to emphasise the importance of that character for example if a character is superior the camera would be held at a low angle to show they are powerful wheras if a character is vunerable the camera would be held at a high angle.
